Jailbreak iPhone 5, iPhone 4S/4/3GS on iOS 6.1 Using Evasi0n

JAILBREAK IOS 6.1 ,6.0,,.....

BY  DARKDRUID

Finding exploits within the iOS 6 rigs on A5/A5X devices has always been a complicated process for the hackers that involve copious amounts of work, patience and many sleepless nights. The large collaborative effort of hackers has now paid off! The Evad3rs Team today released a new untethered jailbreak ‘Evasi0n’ for devices running iOS 6.0 and above. It works on all devices on all iOS 6.x versions sans the ATV3.
Before heading to the proper steps you first need to apply the essential pre requisites. The preparation tasks are explained in the next step, so be patience and read the same (do not skip this section as this is the most relevant one). Otherwise, the process to jailbreak iOS 6.1 using Evasi0n is pretty simple.

Prepare iPhone for jailbreaking with evasi0n

  • Make sure you have either a recent iCloud backup or iTunes backup before proceeding to the actual jailbreak process. Make a backup of your device in iTunes by right clicking on your device name under the “Devices” menu and click “Back Up”.
  • Please disable the lock passcode of your iOS device before using evasi0n. It can cause issues
  • If your iPhone is already jailbroken (with Absinthe or Redsn0w), write down a list of your installed packages, because the next step (restoring) will remove the existing jailbreak. If your device is not jailbroken, you may ignore this step.
  • Restore your iPhone with iTunes. It will update your device to the latest iOS version, currently iOS 6.1 IPSW. iPhone 4 or iPhone 3GS owners who rely with an unofficial carrier unlock MUST restore their device with custom firmware instead.
  • Select “Set up as new device” on the device itself during the setup process after the device is restored. Do not select “Set up as new iPhone” or “Restore from this backup” on iTunes yet.
  • Jailbreak with Evasi0n (follow the tutorial guide listed below).
  • Be patient while the jailbreaking process is running, don’t start iTunes or Xcode in the meanwhile. The best is to not touch the computer until the end of the jailbreaking process.

Supported iPhone Models

iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS (with both old and new bootrom) running iOS 6.0, 6.0.1, 6.0.2, and 6.1 IPSW. Both CDMA, and GSM version of the device can be jailbroken. It is important to note that Evasi0n utility does not unlock your device. It only jailbreaks your smartphone.

How to Jailbreak iPhone with Evasi0n Tool

Step 1: Gather everything you need

First things first — download the evasi0n jailbreak software and make sure you have a computer, running Windows (XP minimum), Mac OS X (10.5 minimum) or Linux (x86 / x86_64). An iPhone, iPad or iPod running iOS 6.0 through 6.1 (you may check in Settings / General / About => Version) and finally a USB cable to connect the device to the computer.

Step 2: Extraction

Extract evasi0n using WinZip or similar and right click on the evasi0n.exe icon and select Run as Administrator. This first file is a self extracting zip file. Once you do this, a new folder will be created on your desktop called evasi0n-win-1.0 with the necessary files.

Step 3: Connect your iPhone to PC

Right Click and run it as an administrator. You will be prompted with this window. Click Open!
Connect your iOS 6.1 device (iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPhone 4 or 3GS), and verify that Evasi0n recognizes the correct name of your device. Click the jailbreak button on Evasi0n, and let it run.
You should see a progress bar. This process may take a while to complete so you’ll have to be a little patient. Make a coffee… and don’t disconnect your device until Evasi0n is done. In the background, the exploit will retrieve information from the device to generate the jailbreak data.
It will then upload Cydia packages list. At this point of time, it is highly recommended, that you do not touch the device at all.
You will now be asked to unlock your device and tap ‘Jailbreak’ icon. It should be available at your iOS springboard (homescreen)
As soon as you click the ‘Jailbreak’ app icon, the exploit will inject the final jailbreak data. Wait until the process is completed automatically.

Step 4: Congratulate yourself

When it reboots, you should notice the Cydia icon on your Home screen. It should all be done, letting you enjoy the jailbroken iPhone.
Once the process has finished, users can restore their settings, apps, and files by right-clicking the device in iTunes and using the “Restore from Back Up” option. You can then go ahead and unplug your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
There’s a whole load of stuff you can do with a jailbroken iPhone. You can install third party apps from Cydia store (iOS 6 jailbreak app list), change the theme, and customize your iPhone beyond what Apple itself would ever allow you to do.
There might be device-specific idiosyncrasies you might face during the jailbreak process. Make sure to let me know in the comments below or over on our Facebook page how you’ve got on and if completed what you’re planning to do next.

Apple Launching Cheaper IPhone To Compete With Android

Most readers would rub their eyes after reading the headline. Apple is notorious for pricing their products highly when compared to the other companies in the industry. However, the Cupertino giant has revealed plans to launch a cheaper iPhone in developing markets. The company has been facing increased competition from devices which run on Android, as they are priced lower and affordable for a larger segment of the audience.
Apple Launching Cheaper iPhone to Compete with Android

Going Against Steve Jobs’ Ideology

Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple, had been strict with the policy of pricing products at a certain level. He was a staunch believer in quality over quantity and had followed the principle up till his death. Now it seems the people in charge have decided to break away from Jobs’ principle and adopt a new policy. Of course, circumstances change over time but it has been just over a year since Jobs passed away. Since then, Apple has faced a number of setbacks.

Sales in China Encouraging

Apple recently revealed that it was selling a record number of iPhones in China. Previously, the market had been dominated by Asia-based companies like Samsung and Nokia. Yet, the launch of the iPhone 5 saw two million units of the smartphone being sold within a week. That is at par with some of the leading markets for Apple’s products, particularly in the developed countries. Hence, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Apple wants to tap into the growing demand in developing markets.

Growing Competition a Constant Worry

While the sales in China have been surprising and more than Apple itself expected, it is true that the growing competition in the market has been a constant source of worry for the company. Till now, Apple has been steadfast with its pricing policy, refusing to budge even when the market called for it. Their focus remained on providing users with the best possible experience rather than making thedevices affordable.

Price Expected to be $99 to $149

Since the news broke out that Apple is planning a cheaper iPhone, people were wondering how far they are going to lower the price. After all, what Apple considers cheap is quite expensive for most consumers and companies in the market. Thus, it was surprising when a report revealed that the price of the cheaper iPhone is expected to be from $99 to $149. In that price range, one could expect Apple to run away with the market share the world over.
According to the reports which have surfaced, Apple is considering changing the material they use for making the newer iPhones. The iPhone 5 is made from aluminum while the previous one was made of glass. For the cheaper version, they might elect to go along with plastic polycarbonate. That would reduce the cost of making the iPhones considerably, enabling Apple to lower the price.
There may be some before anything materializes while there is the chance nothing does. The newer iPhone would be in the league of the iPad Mini, a smaller and cheaper version. A release by the end of 2013 is being rumored but only Apple knows when it will happen.
